^ That was your 1000th post.
No wait, it could have been another post on another thread that was the 1000th.
    Nevermind.

Im looking at BullionBourse. A 5oz bar would cost me $38 per oz, includes postage.. The premium seems a bit steep since spot is $31 yet there selling for about $37 per oz.

That's weird then, usually they're cheap.

On Bullionmoney 10oz dragons are $357 which seems like a decent price.

Might need to shop around, or BB hasn't updated prices.

    Hmm are u sure?

    1KG perthmint bar is $1,137.82
    $1,137.82 divided by 32.15oz = $35.50 per oz

so $4.50 over spot which is like 11-12% premium plus the postage fee.

I failed maths though, so I could be wrong:p

the Scottsdale 5oz bars are $185 which is like 20% premium:/

Unless they havent updated prices but I cant see prices going much lower when they are updated anyway, because Silver was as high as $30 yesterday anyway....

Scottsdale bars are high premium bars though...

5oz I assume is the prey bar, they're not cheap.

If you want low premium you buy KG or 10oz bars.

Even the 'premium' stacker bars are $350 on bullionmoney.

Surely you can get Perth Mint 10oz bars cheaper and kilos even more cheaper.

My limit for % over spot is 5%, if more... I look for other types to buy when prices are down. Wanting eagles or maples... $3 over spot, but I found 3 one kilo for $1 over spot, one Friday and two Today. As I was leaving someone had 40 1/2 pound eagles they wanted to sell. :D I hope they still have they in the am... last time I purchased they were $1 over spot.

Going by the current price on the website....
    http://www.perthmintbullion.com/au/Buy-Silver-Bars/1kg.aspx?size=27

Based on their Ask price, it's around 3.4%:

It's difficult to base it on other spot charts such as silverprice.org, because it seems the PM update their website prices in longer intervals.
e.g. This would be 5% of silverprice.org spot
    [IMG]

The above total has been lower and higher than their websites price during the time writing this post.

Is there ever a time when Perth Mint is not the cheapest on the retail market for Australians?

Some people may suggest buying paper silver and then later selling it for physical when physical becomes available.

Well I pulled the trigger, 20 more oz, cant afford more till next pay. Until then, I expect big volatility in the spot price....hopefully to the downside:)
