Hello, I'm new to this site. Was curious if any experienced silver buyers would have info on the best route to get the 2012 Silver Dragon single ounce coins? I'm located in Toronto so looking for a bullion dealer within the North America area whether it be an online store or not. Thanks for the help.
Thanks a lot Arsenal. They are the only site that i have tried. Signed up for their alerts but no satisfaction to be found. If you think of any other suggestions please don't hesitate to let me know. Enjoy the sunshine Down Under have a nice day. Cheers Staz
Technically they are not released till the 1st of September so would expect availability mid sept in North America. You are lucky to have Apmex so close to you and you dont have to bother with our incoming taxes that sometimes arise with using them from Fed Ex.
Welcome to the Forum, congratulations on stepping up! I take it you will be buying hundreds and then offering them for sale here, you probably have a better chance of getting any than we do! Welcome to the forums and good luck on the dragon hunt!
Everything in silver except 1 oz coins just went up for order on Apmex. Shipping to be on or before Sept 24th. I ordered a couple of 10's and a handfull of 2's and 5's but saving most of my money for 1's.
APMEX are taking orders now for silver lunar Dragons, except the 1oz. They are all on delay until Sept. 23th or sooner
Hi, Thanks to all for the suggestions and sharing your knowledge. Arsenal-- l live in Canada and from what i know we will be taxed at Customs when or if this gets shipped to me. So no luck for me in that department. Thanks for clearing up my bad assumptions, i thought pre-orders were an option but i've been ill informed. Never bought online bullion before only at banks and coin dealers so very new online purchases. These coins may be easier to get in the US than Canada, its not so easy i think here at all but i've yet to learn the ropes Has anyone here actually purchased through Apmex at all? Re:1for1: Cheers for the advice but no luck from local richmond hill shop. Happy Hunting everyone. Staz
Hello! I ordered the proof silver dragons (1oz and 3-coin set) from talisman coins when released by the Perth Mint, but did not get them still yet. Does anyone order them from talisman and what are your experiences with them? Also good dragon-hunting abudabi
hi abudabi i've placed orders with talisman coins and found them extremely helpful. i usually deal with bob there. regards felix
I ordered 1 oz 2012 Silver Dragon at APMEX for $99 USD which is where I get about 90% of my pm's and have been very satisfied. They will not have them until Oct. 4th Modern Coin Mart has them available now for $109 raw, $119 "Early Release" MS69 and $239 for "Early Release" MS70. I have only purchased a few item here but they have been good as well & fast shipping. I also got a few of these graded Dragons too.
Pfft - sorry, but Early Release is a joke with these particular coins - the entire mintage was sold before release to distributors, and I'm pretty sure that the full 300,000 mintage has already been struck by now - it's just a case of the coins trickling out to distributors in time. They're pretty much all September release, so how they can legitimately claim a coin is "early release" is a joke.
The whole slabbing to add value thing is a joke (for Bullion, numismatica is a different animal altogther).. just another way for a dealer to add a premium to the product and differentiate.. i can see why in the ASE market cos they are MASS MASS MASS produced and a dime a dozen so any way or dividing up a standard ASE from a Early realease is a welcome change to the otherwise entirely mundane american silver eagle market. As you correctly state these Dragons were in such a short supply and supposidly sold out immediately so they is no real difference between the first in the last.. would early realise imply its a better strike.. in the case of the dragon only 300k got minted so the DIE should get worked to hard (compared to the multi-million mintage of the BORING ASE) 1for1
"hi abudabi i've placed orders with talisman coins and found them extremely helpful. i usually deal with bob there. regards felix" Still nothing than a confirmation from 06.Sept., no reaction to my mails. I'm wondering!
Downies has 11.66g 2012 proof dragons for USD$54. http://www.downies.com/northamerica/store/product.asp?id=6541 Is this a good deal?
