Wow, Look what's available October 3rd to retail customers I wonder how much over spot they'll be. http://www.combibar.com/products/100g-combibar-silver/
wow these would be interesting. 50g sheets is just about right. Wouldn't mind 10g sheets either. So, for those of us not in Oz, where can we get them?
It will be interesting to see a weight distribution curve of 1 gram pieces of gold as they are broken up from a block. You may need to weigh every piece very precisley.

I saw a broken up combibar a couple of days a go. You would not believe how clean the break is. Although you snap the bits off by hand, the 1g bars you end up with look like they were individually minted with no jaggy edges at all. Very impressed.
I was under the impression these were going to be for the small time investor so I hope the permiums are also small time. I would like to get one full slab of each just for show and tell and for a bit of historical reference, a nice indication of the times when people are prepared to buy 1g of gold at a time. If they take off I can imagine that quite a few copy cats will spring up, I bet perth mint could have a different picture on each one in the slab.
1 gram is sooo tiny! Is golds price limited by size? I mean how small does it have to get before people say forget it?
I reckon the price of gold is limited by price more than weight, I am sure I have seen 0.5g gold coins but it may have been a dream. Anyway, they have gold vending machines so why not a gold gumball machine, pop in a dollar and turn the handle, collect prize.
