    Hey guys,

Forgive me if I've missed this in conversation already.

I was in a post office today and I asked the lady about the 2012 dragons.

She was adamant they hadn't been released to the post offices yet and she even pulled out her little order book and showed me what she was waiting on.

They're getting a 4 coin set, costing $380, which apparently consists of: coloured proof, gilded, regular bullion and regular proof (or something close to that).

They've also ordered a couple of single gilded and single coloured proof coins.

I asked her if she could order a regular proof and she didn't know what it was and could not find any way of ordering it.

    A couple of questions.

Do you think she's got any hope in hell of receiving these coins?

Do Australia Post shops have an allocation of regular proof coins?

    Have they sold out already?

If I get a chance to buy the 4 coin set is it a reasonable purchase?

I just wanted 1 proof, is there anywhere else I can buy it / pre-order it to avoid being rinsed on the secondary market?

    Kind regards,

    - Ric

I pressume the 4 coin set are 1 ounce coins? if so it seems a decent price to me especially given the bullion are going for around $100 a coin atm.

There's some in the forums selling @ $90 and not moving. That includes delivery.

Yeah I think I'm gonna avoid this 4 coin set... :|

Just remember that they may be talking about RAM issues and not just Perth Mint Dragons, I asked about my local getting some in and they said they had no trouble getting any, turned out to be RAM

The proofs would still make it a good deal IMO though.

The Typeset is just packaging rubbish in my opinion but then again everything so far about the dragons has been overpriced I think also.

But a typeset is just a 1oz bullion, 1oz gilded, 1oz coloured and 1oz proof put together in packaging and sold as 1 lot. Usually a bullion coin would be about $45, gilded $100, coloured $90 and proof $120. Add that all up and individually about $355 is what they are worth individually. But how much will the Perth Mint charge because they are simply in the same package ?!

Kudos to all who have profited from the hype.

I had the Tiger fever last year. BIG TIME!!!!

And can see the current $+ they get now.

I have not type the word "dragon" on this forum or anywhere.

Felt a bit ho-hum and just want to get bang for buck bullion.

I spoke to the lady who orders the coins at my local post office last week, They won't get there orders to October. I also saw the order book and it's up to the post office to order what they want. But dosen't look like they got to order the normal proof but 2 coloured types? and a gilded one she was surprised she couldn't order a plain one as they have always got them in every other year and still had plain/coloured rabbits on sale.

I went to my local post office and asked to put my name down for some dragon coins.
I highly doubt they will come in though, when some of the local coin shops didn't even get any.

I went to 4 post offices today and they seem clueless about the colored lunar dragons. They told me to leave my name and contact number and they will get back to me if & when they have any coins!

I went to my local post office and they have only ordered one of these boxes $380. That is all they had ordered that was decent in the dragons. I spoke to the lady who orders them and she is a bit of a collector herself. Took my details and she said they are definately mine when they arrive!
