Or a 5kg? I'm interested in what sort of money one would bring or if there stamped? I'd love to see some information on them.
I have seen 15oz generic sterling bars but that's about it. Do you know any Mints making bars in these sizes?
I've handled one or two - the Ainslie's are bloody nice if you like a bit of rough... and have a spare $15k lying around...
Had one for a few weeks... on loan. Noice Got melted into kilos though. Funny thing is that it was 9999.
Haha alright lads... I meant at a very rough price. Your probably looking at 1350 per key... maybe a bit less!!!
This is a 15kg bar that was put up for sale through the forum earlier this year. The top line is its date of production: January 2000. Next line is the serial number. Then, actual weight 15.222kg in this case. Purity, like most industrial silver is .9999. Then, the mint mark is BHAS. This is the mark of the Port Pirie lead smelter currently operated by Nyrstar. At the time of production of this bar it was operated by Zinifex. BHAS actually stands for Broken Hill Associated Smelters and the mark is LBMA accredited.
check out these mothers! 10,000 oz bars purchased by Kodak back in the day. http://silverporkchops.web44.net/page11.html
Sorry but that is one ugly bar. Here is how they look here in EU, this one if from UMICORE, there was a time when silver was so cheap, that such bars were sold to small investors like me. [imgz=http://forums.silverstackers.com/uploads/494_umicore_15kg_bar.jpg][/imgz] Click on it for bigger picture.
