Auction ends today: http://www.ebay.com/itm/190570913537?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 Artist interviewed at Max Keiser's show: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lgVBWQ99IgM&feature=player_embedded
not sure what was the starting price. He says on the interview that he will release this week a new "CITI Burning" painting and will price it at 2 ounces of silver. Amazing how fast can someone become famous....
Chase Burning started at $920 (half an ounce of gold) The Bank of America painting started at two ounces of silver $85? I don't know art, but I know what I like. Can you still make art purchases through SMSF?
I think it is interesting that he is drawing parallels between his work and Vincent van Gogh. He is a born salesman!
"I'm going to be setting the auction starting bid at the cost of just a half an ounce of gold in today's prices, or $920. " oops just noticed aleks beat me to mention lol I like it - both the painting and the statement it makes. It's currently at $10,300 USD which tells me there are maybe a few people out there who think gold is worth more than $1820
I heard about this piece of art. I looked for it on ebay the other day and couldn't find it. Thanks for locating it!
$25, 200 This is what he got for the painting. Not too bad for an unknown artist. Funny, now he started painting faster to ride the wave of publicity and have 2 more paintings for sale. Let's see where his other auctions will end.... http://www.ebay.com/sch/alex-schaefer-fine-art/m.html?_trksid=p4340.l2562 Sweet, he made enough money for a monster box.....
Unknown artist, well known (relatively) painting. Not a fan, the building looks well rendered but the flames look a bit odd, still, what would I know, the art world has spoken, I wonder if it was bought by a member of the bank and whether we will ever see or hear of it again. Hmmmm won by someone who has (0) feedback and has never bid on anything before, I suspect shenanigans and sabotage
Next he'll paint Goldman Sachs burning, and then HSBC, then Citibank, and then... start cashing in $25,000 on each painting.
A rather keen zero feedbacker won the auction ... http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBids&_trksid=p4340.l2565&item=190570913537 Bidder Information Bidder: e***e( 0 ) Feedback: 0%Positive Item description: Item Title: Chase Burning Bids on this item: 9 30-Day Summary Total bids: 9 Items bid on: 1 Bid activity (%) with this seller: 100% Bid retractions: 0 Bid retractions (6 months): 0
