It's another correction. After the run from 1500-1800+, it is normal to have correction. Even metal bugs got so scared during that run.

These times it really helps to spread your purchase.

I reckon every decent correction extends the bull market.

Correction is just the nature of the market.

Whether the bull market continues or not depends on the economy, if it continues to be crap then the bull market will continue if it crashes, then temporarily PM will come down too.

If economy recovered then the ride is over.

I reckon it depends more on whether the Fed is vaporized or not....

FED = THEFT/INFLATION = PMs bull run continues

    SAVVEE??

I agree in general but if it really bubbles in the short term you can get a cyclical bear market develop for a while.

If and when the fed is vaporised then the economy fundamentals of USA would have changed.

If that happens so suddenly, then the change will be violent and can cause hyperinflation and all sorts of shtf scenario.

I am not convinced that PM can protect us from true shtf.

Tools and food is the only thing that matters during true shtf.

Our PM appreciation depends on the current sweet spot:

Active economy with high fear index. Where people still have enough fiat and earning enough and they want to convert fiat to PM to hedge against uncertainty.

When economy grinds to a halt the uncertainty dissapears (we are all facing certain shtf), who will have the fiat or resource to convert to PM during that time?

When that happens, how do you convert PM to another asset?

    $38 silver?
    DON'T PANIC.

The COMEX expiry date for September silver option is...August 25th!

    http://www.news.tradingcharts.com/futures/8/9/163755998.html

They're just knocking down the price to cover the banks that went short.
Hey, this is the silver market...you need to expect this kind of manipulation before you jump on board.

Obviously, this is time to buy for both gold and silver while they're at temporary discounts.

    Another good time to buy?
Try a couple of days before Nov 22nd when the price will also plummet (that's the next date for options expiry).
So save up your cash for that date to get in on the quarterly silver sales at crazy crazy prices!

I tried that back in 08, i grabbed those 10kg sacks of sunrice every month or so.. had ten...

18 months later... all 10 sacks had to be thrown.. somehow moths got in.. laid eggs.. ruined the lot.. they were the plastic sealed sacks.. anyone know how to stop the moths getting long-stored rice.. i left them up the top of my cubbard (maybe 5 meters off the ground?) what did i do wrong?

Quite often they come from the shop with pantry moth eggs in them. Freezing for a few days should kill off moth eggs and larvae, then store in air-tight containers, refreeze if you have excess.

I've stopped buying in bulk from the shop now, too much food wastage. We just buy what we need every few days.

The eggs are already in there when you buy it. They will hatch if you don't eat them before a few weeks. You've eaten more moth grubs than you know. :)

Don't know if I'd want to be eating 18 month old rice even without the moths... stack baked beans, last for years.

Deep freeze > sunlight > deep freeze > sun light

Food grade buckets + dry ice over the top (for 1 min) + O^2 absorbers = 20yrs IMHO
