    That's a proof eagle then?

    I really hate bullion eagles with a passion - but those I actually rather like - nice piece! :D

    I'll ask first - what was the damage?

    yeah, i have never been terribly impressed by them either but when you see a 8oz proof staring at you you pay..... $353

    Pretty sure that's a generic round... check the weight as well, I remember some being marked 1/2 pound that were in avoirdupois or something silly as well. Should be solid 999 though.

    There are two versions of that, 1) 1/2 troy pound and 2) 1/2 pound. I had both until last week. These are NOT made my the US mint.
