We have been away for 6 mths. Before we went away I put gold coins etc into safe deposit box at bank. Couldn't fit them all into box in their presentation boxes so took 2009 dreaming series out if their box and also the Australian nugget 5 coin set and wrapped them in tissue to store in safety deposit box. Took everything out of box today and remember taking tissue out of box but can't find it or coins. Searched every bin in the house in under around every piece of furniture no sign of them, 10 coins in all, a living nightmare. Has anyone else been as careless as this?
I once lost all my PMs in an unfortunate boating accident. Recently, I have regained my stack through hard work, and also the confidence to set out to sea again.
LOL, they're obviously somehwere around your house, one day you will find them and be laughing straight to the bank
Lost an ounce of gold in a stack stocktake... my spreadsheet had a double entry and I thought I had an ounce more than I did. Felt like I'd lost an ounce of physical when I discovered the mistake.
....two koalas left on top of car after wrestling child into car seat....never seen again....well, not by me anyway. :| That is a pair of bush babies in boxes in a big brown bag.
You didn't leave them in the presentation boxes did you? Hope you find them SS. Been lucky so far, haven't lost anything but have had a couple of small accounting errors as well where I've neglected to write up a swap or sale straight away, then forgotten until much later at which point I realise I don't have as much as my spreadsheet said I did....
30 grand worth of jewelry stolen from the misses two years ago. I know the bastard that did it but not enough evidence for the cops to lay charges. I'm a lot more careful who I let in my house now. Its the only time in my life where I seriously contemplated murdering someone. But its just stuff and one day my stack will dwarf that pile and that bastard will be getting pitch forked in a slow roast in hell.
My wife gave a woollen cardigan to a charity shop only to find out later it had a solid gold 18k chunky chain necklace in one of the pockets that today would be valued at around USD $1500. It was insured but she didn't tell me for over 6 months so I couldn't claim. Total loss !
I once misplaced a few sovereigns... found them a few months later. I have a '37 crown that I've misplaced... hasn't turned up yet.
A supposed friend who was either a gambling addict or con man him and the jewelry vanished like a virgin on prom night. I wasn't cautious enough and it cost me. The same bastard ripped off several other people from his circle of "friends"
Good news. Went to the bank and opened the box and as my wife said I had left them in the box, felt like a DH but too happy to have them back to care about that. Thanks for all the good wishes. Eddie
I have some silver rounds somewhere, not sure how many but each time I try to remember I usually end up discovering another round I haven't seen for a while. they will turn up, fortunately I don't "hide" them, I just put them in a pile to sort out and never see them again. Glad yours turned up, you didn't find a few Indian Heads in with them did you?
