I accidently cut through the mint sealed plastic of a 1/4 gold 2011 panda, whilst opening the packaging it came packed in. Is this not a big deal, or will it seriously undermine the potential numismatic value of this coin?

    Cheers

It's a perfect opportunity to get the coin conserved and graded :)

Wasn't someone on this forum recently getting some coins graded and slabbed? Would love to hear about the experience (steps needed, pitfalls etc).

I'd also be keen to hear from anyone that has had this done, what the costs involved were.

'twas me. Just got to get my butt into gear and get it organised.

Trouble is, I keep buying more coins with the intention of sending them to NCS for conserving and then NGC for grading so every extra purchase puts my timeline back.

So, I have nothing to report so far - except that "Universal Coins" must not be NGC dealers in Australia because they have not responded to my PM. So if anyone from there is reading this post, I'd be grateful for some info. :) Or even a reply. :( I know they haven't been online for a while - maybe should email them.

Just emailed them so I'll let you know when I get a reply

Universal coins are PCGS authoritars, not NCS/NGC, thanks scotty for replying to my email.
