Talks about Silver history & it's modern day role as well as a little plug for his e-book (SHTF prep) & dealing with people who think you're just nuts.
Incidentally, I do keep raising the point every time I meet up with a number of people and I'll say it again: How many stackers do you know who qualify as 'normal'?
You have a good point there. I think a critical thing for a SHTF scenario are basic survival skills, you'd be surprised how many people can't catch, clean, and cook a fish, shoot a target with a rifle, start a good fire without gasoline, split wood with an ax, or even set up a tent for that matter. Probably the best prep for a SHTF scenario even more than stockpiling goods is time spent in the bush. That said I am going to start buying extra water and canned goods, batteries etc. When the are on sale. I live in a remote area in Canada so every winter can feel like a SHTF scenario!
Lets see, how useful would I be? I think i can do all those things you said some people can't do. (catch fish, put up a tent etc) I've never shot a real rifle, but I'm pretty accurate with an air rifle, so I probably could. Ummm... I can cook, and am completely devoid of any high-pitched squeal over the zany antics of celebrities. I could also bring Maples, but first I'd need the airfare to Canada.
I'm fine. I tend to 'hit and run' here as someone mentioned before rather than get bogged down in 'discussions' on SS anymore, too much angst when the heat gets turned up for me to bother. If I see something that's interesting though, I don't mind dropping a link for other readers. I'm still a very active 'regular' on SS, just more in the background nowadays. As always, I'm long physical with a cost average stacking philosiphy, which means I don't really watch the day to day market movements (or need to for that matter). But I never miss an opportunity to add to my stack, usually a little at a time - but with consistency. I've always measured my stack in ounces, not dollars spent.
I stack silver/gold and I think I'm normal, at least that's what the little leprechaun in my basement tells me
