I got a fake Panda from a Chinese seller with excellent feedback, put in a claim that it was fake to eBay. Claim was refused unless I sent it back at my expense which was a further $20, their response was that they don't adjudicate on quality. You only credit if you send it back hence the low original price here. They're betting people won't bother with the rigmarole associated with sending the item all the way back to China.
Yeah don't worry about polishing the rifle just yet, the Chinese Govt. just put that out into the Western domain as social propaganda. The rate at which these fakes are expertly churned out would indicate the counterfeiters are well known & the authorities are very well compensated for their silence.
I never send it back, I just argue that the item is counterfeit and it is illegal in Australia to mail counterfeit goods. They will usually reply with a "Get it certified as a fake by a professional dealer" and well, we know plenty on here! If you can't be stuffed just reply, "Look you can refund me or I'm going to Fair Trading, AFP, etcetc" and they'll refund it lol. Source: Previous experience
Got a similar reply to you guys. Are they .999 pure silver?" For me, it is just too good to be true.. intriguing though So..who's bought one?
I came across this site, thought id post the link. Shows the differences Between some fakes out there and the genuine ones. http://www.pandacollector.com/rogue.html
There is some element of truth in your jesting. Its a legal carryover from the old 'State Planned Economy' era that counterfeiting Chinese currency is considered to be 'economic sabotage' tantamount to treason. Hence why most PRC-based counterfeiters are reluctant to risk putting the 'Yuan' symbol on their fakes. Get caught making those and its 7.62mm brain hemorrhage time... http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/china/2009-07/31/content_8501404.htm
Might bear looking at your ebay account to see if the transaction is visible, I told someone who was specifically after a fake, (dont know why), they purchased one and have just informed me that their whole transaction has disappeared. My very limited experience of these things tells me that something going on behind the scenes.
The black parts of the panda and what shows as black behind the temple in this pic are mirrored in the real panda. Not that there was confirmation needed to tell these were fake, but something to look out for.
reported the seller to ebay yeasterday and nothing heard form them. Looks like what we already new, they don't care. As long as they get their money
