    Hi

Probably a really stupid question but I live too far away from bullion dealers and shops so I assume the only way to catch a price and fix it is by online ordering or phoning up and ordering. Sometimes I notice though that dealers prices online lag behind the real spot price.
If the price dips only for a short time before it goes back up again will there be any dealer (which one would be best?) that would fix in that spot price when it happens if you phone them or order online (I have never bought silver this way before).
I sort of imagine that when it does happen many dealers will close their doors and not take orders!

Buy on here instead, fix the prices in with other forum members and that's that.

That's pretty much the rule rather than the exception, in my opinion. Dealers want to make a profit and use all kinds of excuses to shut shop when the spot dips (perhaps understandably).

Very few sites list their prices publically without a login but bullionbourse is one of them. Ringing around is probably good to get a better deal but with most dealers you pretty much have to act on the quote quickly.

edit: You also won't get anything close to spot price for most items. Different products attract different premiums.

If i can use the Perth Mint as an example , their spot is always around 50c higher to a falling spot ( wrongly or rightly ) but quick to rise when spot is pushing up . Pretty common ... !!! but there are two sites that i have noticed stay right on the spot price and they are Apmex and gainsville coins ( both US )

Call me any time for a website update if you think my prices don't reflect a dip. I am more than happy to help.

bulliondeals is great to deal with, incidentally.
Last time I checked the website I could have sworn no prices for other items were showing.
They are there now. Good to know.

If you're investing long-term in physical, make scheduled monthly purchases and don't worry about day-to-day fluctuations.

If you're trading paper, buy on heavy dips and sell into strength.
