does anyone know what this is? my wife got it for me for our anniversary, bless her heart, but i don't know what the hell it is. it weighs about 33.6 grams and passes the acid test. as either sterling or .999 (bright red) edit: i just noticed that the weight times .925 equals one troy ounce. so i think its probably 925 silver with exactly a troy ounce of silver in it. its not marked though.
celebrating the traditional, strong and long standing relationship between Australia and Kazakhstan needs Borat on the obverse sorry to highjack PB...it's just such a random coin... very unique and rare.
Very nice, I love the wide edge - its much more intricate than the panda's. How much do these bad boys usually go for then?
An amazing amalgam of images ..nicely done.Wonder what the provenance is? A guick google bring up nothing ..but this thread ,of course.
it was sold to my wife for $40. I think my coin guy assumed it was .999 because the price reflects that. He usually sells stuff like that for only $1 or $1.50 over spot.
This is driving me crazy. I took it as a challenge to do some searching and I have come up with NOTHING!!! If you find out, let us know Kel
ha! she borrowed the cash for it from me before we left that morning to the "trade days" (a quarterly thing they have in the next town over). It's actually kind of neat, might hold on to it until I find out more about it.
No year and nothing to say its even silver. Post 1990 one would assume after the breakup of the USSR but other than that, mystery.
Do we have one of their embassies here. Would really like to know the meaning behind it, maybe send them or the racing board a pic and see what turns up?
