Hi everyone, For over 3 years now, gold in US dollars has never closed out a month above $2000. It breached that resistance during Aug 2020, March 2022, and also March, April & May 2023..... but never closed out those months above it. Will this time be different? Take a guess at the closing international gold bid price as displayed here on Friday 1 Dec at 6.40am AEST and if you land on it or are the closest to it, we'll sell you this 2015 1 oz Gold Buffalo for $200 below spot, Australia Wide delivery included. To be eligible: 1. Register as a member 2. Sign up to a myBullion PRO subscription 3. Upload an avatar to your profile 4. Post your bid here. Rules: 1. Bids, or rather guestimates, can only be made up until 8pm AEST on Thursday 30 November. 2. Two decimal places required, e.g: $2006.22 3. To make things a little fairer, the earlier you post the more guesses you'll be granted. For example, 8 guesses if you post today (Thursday 23), 7 if you post tomorrow, 6 the day after etc. Only 1 on Thursday 30. 4. No duplicates - first in best dressed. A running tally in ascending order will be displayed on this thread each day, so you'll know what guesses have been claimed. Good luck all!
One last thing, feel free to post questions on this thread if you think the answer will assist the wider stacker community, like rule clarification. However if it’s a personal related question (issues registering, posting a guess, etc.) please PM me or send the platform a question via the contact form. Thanks Nino
A quick update with 5 more days to get your guesses in. As you're probably aware Gold in US dollars closed the week above $2000. Off to a good start but time and time again it closes out the month below that mark. Your guess is as good as anyone's as to what it will do The excitement is palpable
Guesses claimed: $2010.20 $2009.20 $2008.20 $2007.20 $2006.20 FYI: No stopping anyone making a guess BELOW US$2000

That's correct Silver_Pixue. The winner will have the option to buy the buffalo at $200 AUD below spot. Thanks for bringing that up.

Its looking like gold might actually close the month out above $US2000! Just a reminder that no more guesses will be accepted after 8pm AEST this evening, and only one bid per person on this final day
That’s correct 316ag, but don’t write yourself off. Your higher bid of $2019.90 is still within striking distance.
Its a lock! Here are the all the guesses in descending order: $2038.40 $2019.90 $2006.60 $1998.80 2016.89 2022.57 2018.58 2009.09 2010.10 2011.11 2022.22 $2015.92 $2015.91 $2015.90 $2015.89 $2010.20 $2009.20 $2008.20 $2007.20 $2006.20 And here they are as they were posted: Buffalobidding by mybullion.com.au posted Nov 30, 2023 at 8:12 PM Goodluck all!
FYI. Kitco (who we are basing the $US Gold price off) is showing a market close time that coincides with 9am AEST. Therefore the price displayed at 9am AEST, not 6.40am AEST as originally stated, is what we'll be comparing guesses against
Winner confirmed! Congratulations to Dia whose guess of $2038.40 was .15% off the exact closing price of $2035.70. Kitcogoldclose by mybullion.com.au posted Dec 1, 2023 at 9:09 AM And congratulations to $USGOLD. For the first time in history it has closed out a month above the US$2000 mark. You might be considering selling your bullion with higher prices abound. If so, please take a look at our buyback rates. Happy stacking all.
