Is it just me or have Aust Post cracked down on bulllion getting shipped out of AUS? I know that we are not meant to do it under currencey Act etc but Ive had no problem for years now and in the last month 3 parcels got flagged. 2 try to get out to USA and 1 coming from Tasmania. Anyone sugest the best way they to ship to the USA? Courier? if so what 1? Many thanks in advance for your help in this matter.
The ruling have tighten up since Cov 19. Certain countries may or may not able to go, as per normal parcels. Even courier like FedEx , destination may get rejected. Each country are different ruling; guess you need to check each destination. Failure to comply item may get confiscated. see custom ruling.
Many Thanks Guys. I was thinking that Ill try Parcel; post to USA, a bit slower but as long as it gets there is the main thing.
Found TOLL international has sent 2 parcels no problems , the 1st was the parcel Aust Post rejected 3 times. Ive sent 2 parcels now and its super fast, a little more $$$ but that just goes into the deal.
Out of curiosity what would the USA market be seeking from Oz. They have a vast selection with the majority of suppliers offering free shipping? Just interested
It’s not that easy as I’ve gotten around the description of the goods for years. It seems that Aust Post have upgraded the scanning machines as I had 1 parcel rejected 3 times from shipping with a big sticker saying prohibited items in parcel and stated Bullion outright even when I never used that term. I bet they have more sensitive x-ray machines and have metal doctors etc.
you have to think out of the box for the right description-I cannot say what it is as this is a public forum but there are options
