Over the last few months, the sale prices for coloured $2 coins - both on eBay and from dealers - defies reason.

Coins (circulation, carded and rolls) are selling for really exaggerated prices.
This is something I do not understand. It is because of FOMO or something else?

Are they selling at those prices?

I have seen the Red Poppy on the RSL envelope being offered for about $120 each.

I bought a 2012 poppy roll for $150 on SS in 2014 I sold it 6 months ago for $2000. Recently sold prices are $3500 I can't believe people are buying these I thought $500 max you can get for these. You can buy so much more gold and silver for $3500

I sold 3 of the green rolls 2 months ago for around $300 each (bought in 2014 for $67). They are now fetching over $1000 per roll!
I also had 10 or more of the C mint mark on card which I bought in 2014 for $15, and had a hard time recouping my $15 when i sold them off in 2018. Those are now closing in on $100 each too.
    Crazy stuff!

WTF! I've got a few rolls/bags buried away of these somewhere, I don't think I can get home quick enough to dig em out and flip them. Crazy money.

I remember getting about $1000 worth of these from ANZ... we sold them over the counter by the roll. Doh.

How many sold prices are real?

All my listings now require immediate payment otherwise I only get new accounts (usually with Indian names) making stupidly high bids that never pay.

Maybe coin dealers? buying fake accounts, pumping and dumping their stock.

I'm not just 'kicking myself' ....

I cried for hours, when I realised how much I could have made ....

Yep. I sold all my coloured $2. rolls for 10% more than I paid for them, as I need cash quickly a few years ago.

I had 10 x 2012 red poppy rolls, including a rare RAM one.

    Anyway, I still have a number of rolls I didn't sell, of various years ( 50c / $1. / $2. )

For a list, send me an email at: [email protected]

I assumed you have sold for $1K ~1.5K per roll as a member here claimed that he sold 2 rolls for $3K a few years back. So....you gained around $10-15K from 10 rolls while today's market value is around $100K.

I sold each roll for between $500 -$600.

    I said that I "cried" later .....
