    A gold coin Sovereign is literally worth its weight in gold, which is known as its bullion value. A coin will typically weigh 7.98g. A gold coin Sovereign is minted in 22 carat gold, meaning it is made up of 91.67% fine gold. Each sovereign contains 7.32 grams of fine gold.

    A few sold on eBay for $650 less 15% fees = $552. My offer is fair.

    This coin dealer in Victoria is selling Gold Sovereigns for $657. Has anyone bought from them before? Is this price including GST? First time buyer and would appreciate some guidance.

    Price of gold was bit lower yesterday and it went up a bit overnight after my post. Thought there was 10% GST on gold coins?

    I keep away from "cash for gold" places like the plague, just because they advertise that as their sovereign selling price does not mean that
    they have any in stock for sale at that price.
    They would first need to find a shmuck silly enough to sell them a sovereign at their advertised buying price of $538 before they can resell the coin.

    If you are considering buying at that price, why don't you unclench your fist and offer that sort of buying price on here in your ad?

    You could potentially end up with a much nice coin than from a cash-for-gold dealer.
