Cryptos are a depreciating fiat too.

Fiat is government issued money not-backed by any commodity.

Cryptos are therefore not fiat. Just like gold.

Short-term they may be depreciating, long-term they're not.

Famine will break out in many (especially poor) countries, not only due to the Ukraine-Russia conflict, but also due to the fact that countries like India, Argentina, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Hungary, Serbia etc. have either restricted or fully banned the export of crops and other agricultural products (this even applies to meat in some cases).

All of those countries are major producers and exporters.

What we are hearing is true: food crisis ahead!

My guess is that most of the "civilized world" will be affected until autumn (probably be September already). Some European countries are already experiencing shortages.

I expect Africa, parts of Latin-America and southern Asia (overpopulated countries like Bangladesh) to have devastating riots, famine crises and migration attempts. See how the EU will tackle the coming waves of migrants.

And when mainstream media spews all that, then what is "truth", "distortion of truth", "bullshit" and all other shades of information leaves the average person's sence of reality in a state of chaos. Conspiracy? Naaahhhh.... that's just the new normal.

If you remember 2 sci-fi movies (which I loved)... actually 3:

"Sliders": they "slide" through a wormhole traveling between parallel worlds, where basically everything looks the same, just that in one world the US is ruled by Russia, in the other world by Australia and there's even a mad world in which men became extinct due to a pandemic and almost only women were left to "rule" the world

"Quantum Leap": Sam Beckett travels through the bodies/personalities of various people - literally, temporarily he becomes them (he appears in their body), literally replacing their soul/personality, but only for a while... he has to resolve difficult life-related situations from the perspective (through the eyes) of that respective person, then when it's all done, he gets "beamed" into the body of someone else... and so on and so forth

"Back to the Furue 2": the episode in which Biff Tannen becomes a super billionaire and "rules" Hill Valley, there are riots on the streets etc., all because he traveled back in time and gave that sports almanac to his youngers self... Marty then also travels back to hinder Biff from giving the almanac to his youngers self... twisted story, but I'm sure at least 70% of you know :D

2022 also feels like a bit of "Soylent Green" and a lot like "They Live". But it's like we entered this "parallel universe", just like in "Sliders" through the Corona-pandemic.

It just feels very surreal. I'm sure John Carpenter is thinking about creating a new movie about all this madness :D

Why no one asking how many EU countries will have civil unrest, oil riots and even collapse due to oil crisies?

Ireland, Belgium, Spain maybe even UK.

Something more Arab Spring and Orange Revolution was weak sauce, I mean real civil collapse and hunger wars akin to African revolutions

Im a few hours away from Aspen but we do alot of work there. Weve been out there for the last month now working and home for the weekends which my one day weekend started tonight haha.
Its a very progressively liberal town where the Karens rule over the cucks and they make sure everyone is equally miserable.

I always say the last sack of balls left Aspen and Telluride when all the miners left.

no worries in Australia though. The police (Vic, NSW, ACT & Qld at least) are ready for any kind of unrest. We can all feel safe in our beds knowing they have our backs and well being foremost in mind. :)

    Oh, my Dear Lord!

You think it could go that bad really? I am not sure it will lead to such a "civil collapse" and "hunger wars" African style.

    But...

Honestly, it's the indirect reverberations that I'm more worried about. It is not so important what the Ruskies are doing, but how the rest of the world is reacting. I mean:
    - India, Indonesia, Argentina, Serbia, Hungary, Turkey, Philippines... etc. etc. ETC. are restricting the export of food products/agricultural products partially, some TOTALLY

I am not sure that Europe cannot survive without all those external sources. Russia, Ukraine and now much of the rest of the world are excluded: no crops, very few other products coming from there. So, Europe will have to survive mostly on its own.

So, currently the food resources are gradually getting depleted, the food supply chain is breaking. The prices are rising, but certainly not following the rate of depletion.

The US could replace the streams of food products, but sadly the Americans don't put enough energy into agriculture, food production. Plus, US food products are either very expensive or GMO-destroyed.

Europe relied on Asian and South American food imports. If Brazil will keep delivering, then Europe might have something to feed on. Turkey is already restricting. So, pretty much what remains is Europe to feed itself. But the population is hu

There are plenty of large agricultural producers in Europe, but the issue is scarcity + high price.

Around 590 million people live in Europe (EU and non-EU members all included), without: Russia, Belarus, Ukraine. That's almost half of China or India. Almost double the US population.

What could add fuel to the fire: more migrants coming in due to famine in Africa and parts of Asia, as well as Ukraine. The Ukrainians are also suffering of hunger, the war is destroying their lives.

Let's just hope that peace is reached and the catastrophe gets avoided BEFORE winter kicks in. Otherwise, winter will destroy the EU economy.

Yep, look at covid. Shouldn't all the unvaxxed people be dead by now? Covid didn't wreck things, the reaction to it is what has Fked things up.

If anything, a few less mouths to feed would have meant a little more to go around.... (black humour!).
