In the US, they are already selling "cricket protein bars":

I think they will introduce the "bug meals" gradually with nice packaging, tremendous advertising and "delicious flavoring", prolly even coloring
If we've been munching chemicals for so many decades and didn't care, then why would we care?

After all, KFC chicken ain't chicken, McDonald's chicken nuggets contain silicone and chocolate quite often doesn't have a bit of chocolate either.
More than 50% of Nutella is sugar, oils and other crap, the cocoa and hazelnuts part is very little (and even that's mostly crap, not real!). So, Nutella too is a bunch of crap.

How many bugs would they need to produce "protein bars" and "bug burgers" for 7+ billions of people???
A single family could consume millions of bugs per year (!disgusting!).

Prolly this ALREADY IS SOYLENT GREEN!:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Aye? Are you talking about anti-foaming agent? These are non-toxic processing aids added at miniscule amounts for functionality. And do you realise that silicone dioxide is abundant as an anti-caking (free flowing) agent in almost all powder blends such as spices, seasonings and sauces and almost any baking premix? Perhaps people would prefer to buy clumped rocks. You'll poison your mind harder with your youtube and google education than consuming the products (unless you just overconsume sugar and fat which most people seem to do then blame benign additives for their ailments). If you have a sensitivity (allergen or intolerance) then better to accept your p!ss weak physiology and avoid it than start a fear campaign. Gluten fear has wrecked the food industry and it's just a god damn wheat protein.

The British Won't Stand for Dimethylpolysiloxane, But Americans Eat It in Their McNuggets

Here's another ingredient the British won't stand for in their McNuggets: Dimethylpolysiloxane. But Americans are still eating it.

This silicone-based anti-foaming agent has been removed from the United Kingdom's McNugget ingredient list – and with good reason.

While McDonalds.com admits that "a drop of an additive in vegetable oil is added to simply prevent foaming on the surface that naturally occurs in cooking," what it isn't telling you is that this same chemical is found in silly putty, contact lenses, medical devices, shampoos, lubricating oils, heat-resistant tiles and breast implants.

"No studies have suggested any toxic effects," Ochner said, "but it's definitely gross to think about."

Lol. Isn't it in the oil they'd cook with anyway? Oil without anti-foaming agents creates an unmanageable mess from my experience.

If the bugs were saturated in sugar then deep-fried, I'd say they would be fine.

What is freakin' eerie about Soylent Green is that it plays in 2022, when the world is transformed into a police state, in which there are tremendous food shortages.

    Shocking coincidence.

But let's always hope this remains a fantasy and that the politicians will miraculously find a peaceful way to work out things by this summer... or autumn at least.
I think there are many things they could do with regards to the stupid war, sanctions, economic-financial warfare, the East vs West paradigm.

Wisdom is required. Perhaps a non-political, more humane influence is needed for peace and for stopping the economic warfare. I was a fan of Pope John Paul II., but the current Pope is a lame leftist. So, little or no hope from his influence...

The way things look right now, it's best to stock up on necessary electronics, technical stuff for your house and car, FOOD and water especially. Only then precious metals.

The one thing we learned from Obama. Hope and change is not a strategy.

I wouldnt count on them doing anything to make things better after they got us into all this mess. Its just not part of the plan.

Those are two useless empty words.

Hope = no action, no concept, just sit like a couch potato and hope that life will be better
Change = what into what? especially if you sit around like a fat Homer Simpson drinking beer, overflowing with actionless HOPE

    :D

The dirt cookies (literally!) are the snack of the poor in Haiti. Kids might even like it, because they have little ide of what real food is.

Kids eat it, as if it would be some sort of pancakes.

After all, it's better than "Soylent Green"!

Why the hell doesn't the US feed these people, since they're printing so many dollars, a little "US aid" would be very useful.
The deep poverty is very close to the US shores and it would cost very little to help them.

It's odd how the other side of the island - the Dominican Republic has thriving luxury tourism and a lot more money.

One of the world's poorest countries is so close to a superpower that's more concerned about "democracy" than people who die of hunger. This is stunning.

No one cares about Haiti. Brandon has plenty of hungry and homeless living in tents within walking distance of the White House and its just worrysome.

    True.

Someone should care about Detroit and Philadelphia first. Then, they could help Haiti, Cuba, Mexico. If only Haiti had oil and gas... everyone would be there on "humanitarian missions" and "campaigns for democracy".

    https://au.pcmag.com/security/93899/ransomware-attack-hits-major-farming-equipment-maker-agco

A ransomware attack has disrupted production at AGCO, a major US provider of farming equipment, including tractors and harvesters.
The company confirmed the incident today after media in France reported a cyberattack had hit several AGCO sites in the country on Thursday, including a tractor assembly facility.

The company said: “AGCO is still investigating the extent of the attack, but it is anticipated that its business operations will be adversely affected for several days and potentially longer to fully resume all services depending upon how quickly the company is able to repair its systems."
    -
The attack risks preventing AGCO from serving its agricultural customers across the globe. Last month, the FBI raised alarm bells about how hackers are spreading ransomware to farming groups during the planting and farming seasons.

The goal behind the attacks is to pressure farming groups into paying the ransom demands, which can involve forking over hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars. But in a worst case scenario, the disruptions could also affect the food supply chain, the FBI warned. As an example, the agency pointed to an incident in March involving a ransomware attack that hit a “multi-state grain” processing company that also provides seed and fertilizer services.

The European Union’s plan to offer energy firms a way to pay for Russian natural gas without breaching sanctions helped send prices lower for a second day as invoice deadlines loom.

Benchmark gas futures in the Netherlands fell as much as 5.5%, extending Friday’s 9.2% drop. The European Commission is set to offer buyers new guidance on how to pay for gas, satisfying President Vladimir Putin’s demands while avoiding a potential violation of sanctions imposed as a result of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

In the new guidance, the commission plans to tell companies they should make a clear statement that they consider obligations fulfilled once they pay in euros or dollars, in line with existing contracts, according to people familiar with the matter. The bloc could also cap gas prices if Russia cuts or significantly limits shipments, according to a draft of energy-market intervention measures seen by Bloomberg News.

From what I've heard, the EU is still pressuring all its members to cut themselves off from Russian gas. Some members openly oppose this due to their dependency on Russian gas.

I think there are 3-5 alternatives to Russian gas all around:

    1. North Sea: Norway, UK, Germany, Netherlands have the interest to sell their (expensive gas) for the rest of Europe, but most countries (such as the Balkan countries and Central Europe are very far and there is no infrastructure connecting them to the North Sea):
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_...#/media/File:North_Sea_oil_and_gas_fields.svg

    2. Algeria/North Africa: this is were Spain, Portugal are getting most of their gas and I believe France as well (again, no infrastructure besides a few southwestern countries and little supply)

    3. US gas (most expensive) - few ports are too far from inland Europe (landlocked countries such as Switzerland, Austria Czech Rep. can't access this gas) and the transportation of liquid gas could cost cost a lot; interruptions regarding transportation and environmental disasters would occur

    4. Caspian Sea gas: I think there is some link, but as far as I know if only connects parts of the Balkans - not much info on this, but I think the Russians also have interests in the Caspian region

    5. Eastern Mediterranean: no infrastructure, too many conflicts between Greece/Turkey/Israel/Syria/Cyprus... most of the gas remains unexploited... I think this could be a great opportunity, but there is a lot of division

Other opportunities include Black Sea gas and Middle Eastern gas (Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey...) but due to no pipelines, this gas should also be transported via ships.

Imagine the large number of ships, the complicated port infrastructure and the costs. If baking a pizza with an expensive gas could cost you 750 $, you'd better off eating grass! :D

I think overall the dependency on gas should be minimized. Electricity might be the key. But from what sources?

Multiple countries could implode economically - according to WION. Sri Lanka scenario or worse: Venezuela?

    Just watch the trends:
powerful energy sector crisis >>> massive transportation crisis, massive food crisis >>> major economic crisis, deficits, economic decrease, poverty >>> MIGRATION, wars, theft/burglary, anarchy

Don't the leaders of the world see the monster they're creating?

Or do they really want chaos?
