War in Europe and metals prices bouncing around a little but no real trend. Overnight price falling on day 2. The market isn’t taking this seriously yet, no sign of panic. Even 2 years plus of major international economic damage from government mis-handelling of a flu virus response didn’t really budge prices. Asset seizures by Canada of it’s own citizen’s bank accounts and no metals price action. Strange times indeed, nobody at the helm of the metals ship during this storm either.
In reality, Ukraine is a poor country plagued with corruption and problems. Hardly surprising that nobody has stepped up to help. I remember reading decades ago about Ukraine during World War 2 when the Germans and Russians were fighting over it along with local militia aligned with both sides. What a mess. Gold will probably be back to $1780-$1800 in a month or so. Ukraine will be controlled by Russia, the West will be bleating about it ( conveniently forgetting about the absolute disaster they created in the Middle East) and life will go on....oh....and the Dow back to 40,000......Go Shiba Inu.
The action just started. Gold likely to bounce around this price, but anyone who thinks that Ukraine will be settled quickly is very naive. Biden is clearly provoking Putin by sanctioning him. When was the last time a great power leader was sanctioned? This is a great humiliation that Putin will retailate and further escalate the conflict which is what Biden wants. The US still has a lot to go on sanctions even without touching SWIFT.
I reckon aid is flowing already. As Kiev did not surrender in the first two days (thanks to the UK airbridge of delivering Javelins for weeks before the Russkies' blitz), the West sees that there might still be a chance to turn this to a defeat to Putin. Massive respect to Ukrainians for putting up a fight.
A lot of people (Westerners) still don't understand the chinese feudal new world order. In the feudal world, when wars are lost, men are enslaved, women and children are sold and exiled. This is to destroy the country totally and prevent any chance of revival. If Ukraine is taken over by Russia, their men will be conscripted as slave soldiers to fight Poland and Romania, the women and children will be sent to Siberia. If you think MAD is bad, this is definitely worst than MAD. Mutual destruction as the Chinese say is better.
I'm not predicting the future, I'm just saying what is already happening. What I wrote already exist today if you look carefully.
"If Ukraine is taken over by Russia, their men will be conscripted as slave soldiers to fight Poland and Romania, the women and children will be sent to Siberia." I belive that is called a prediction.
Give it 2 weeks and Ukraine will surrender ( Once they realise that the antagonists encouraging them have abandoned them) As for Biden, he will probably be in nappies in 2 weeks the way he is degenerating. I think Putin feels sorry for him more than anything. As for sanctions.......Who's got the gas? Putin is not without friends.
I remember saying that Russia will invade Ukraine but many here still say it won't happen as their superhero or "god of war" won't be so stupid. So did I predict Russia will invade Ukraine? No, I didn't predict that. It's just what they plan to do. De-Ukranianization of Ukraine is also what they intend to do. It's not that they haven't done that. Crimea is filled with Russians. Just extrapolate that to the entire Ukraine. How do you make Ukraine "Russian"? By removing all the Ukrainians. Even a child can tell you that.
It wasn't really all that long ago when Putin rolled the tanks into Georgia. From memory that didn't drag out for too long. maybe a couple of weeks at most.
not invasion when you are not stop at all, they drive though Donbass, no shot fired Russia used precision weapons to destroy military warehouses and air defences, still no invasion when they start entering toward Kiev ... invasion begun, eitherway... Russia got the sanctions, might as well do it De militarised De nazify like it when they said 8 biological labs were destroyed
Been there. There's big mountains and loads of drunk people. Ukraine is on the door step to Europe and has under-utilised resources. Geopolitics.
