    Hi,

Wondering if anyone has an opinion on ABC Bullion Pooled option for buying metals. The prices are good and there is no storage fees, but I assume there are drawbacks/risks I am probably not aware of?

    Thank you

Just bare inmind that these 'pooled' options are 'papers' only.. no physical BUs in possession... thus, when you wanted them into 'physical' BU, then you need to wait until refinery can provide you with the qty... This means, you need to wait until refinery/supplier are met before collection...

basically, just 'paper shuffling' by refinery/supplier..

If you're cool with that then go for it!

You'll need to check to see how they're audited. I believe most of these pool allocated and unallocated setups are self auditing, and you may not have what you think you have especially if there's no storage fees. Buying physical bars and putting it in a safe place is the best way to ensure you have the real thing, and it'll still be there when the SHTF.

Ok I understand, thanks for explaining.

Can anyone recommend a bullion dealer that does storage of physical in Brisbane that is good? I found:

    Imperial
    Ainslie

    Any opinion on these providers?

    Thanks

You'll also be charged for minting the physical from paper.

I had an ABC pooled bullion for years with my SMSF. Last year I cashed out and went all physical. Nothing like touching your own bullion.
