No restrictions - just a picture and price will do. If it’s in my buy zone will get them.

You may want to broaden your horizons a bit when searching out those elusive platinum products @Killerbala.

I saw a nice 1 oz, Platinum Noble coin sell at auction today at well under the spot price.;)

GeeVee, you blokes want everything handed to you on a plate.

Not saying where, but it sold for about $1300, so someone got themselves a good buy;)

Inclusive of buyer's premium or not?

    That's where they get you...

Yes, it went for $1100 without the "Buyers Premium".

The buyer's premium does not "get" the buyer as he will already have factored in that 20% fee when bidding.

It "gets" the poor vendor who was silly enough to sell this way.

Not only do the auction houses charge this $20%+ buyers commission, but a lot of them still charge up to 15% in vendors fees as well for selling.

So the poor vendor can end up getting charged up to 37% in fees and charges for selling precious metals this way!

And some of you think that eBay is greedy;)

Yeah the one and only time I've decided to involve myself in an auction I didn't factor that in....

I've learnt my lesson and now have to wait till gold goes higher (hopefully) to recoup/break even

I don't do auctions any more haha

If prices fall further, I would recommend getting a 100g bar for the thrill. It's one of the coolest thing to hold. Better than gold.

You may as well be talking about silver as platinum attractiveness-wise, Steveno.

I honestly don't see what some people see in this bland dull white metal to be so attracted to it.

I never had an emotional attachment to platinum even when I was stacking it many years ago.

Only stacked it because it was more expensive than gold, and I thought I could make some money out of it so I could buy more gold.

Found it easy to sell (as I did palladium) as there was no emotional attachment.

Now with gold, it is totally different love affair and I only sell some after I have purchased other gold that I like even more;)
