A lovely design with typical Germania Mint high quality. "The first commemorative coin created through close cooperation between the Central Bank of Malta and Germania Mint. There hasn't been any official word on number of issues but it was supposed to be an issue per year. For how long, who knows. There are official updated pictures of the final coins here and here. The 1oz has already started showing up on coin sites for sale and the 2oz is due next month. A nice review video is below:
I really like the design and got one of the BU coins. The 2 oz are going to be hard to get and probably expensive like the purple dragons a while back. Germania has some of the finest designs being issued today and I don't really care that they are not legal tender issues in most cases, though these ones probably are. I also have a personal connection to Malta, so these were a must-have.
I'll be getting the 2oz as well, and yes it will definitely be in the same price range as their Fafnir, unfortunately. But I would expect it to sell out like the Fafnir as well.
