Hi Stackers, I’m looking to buy a 24 karat bangle as a gift - any information / guidance / comments would be appreciated Regards SD
24k difficult unless you have it commissioned 18-21k much easier to come by, even 22k. 24k would also be very soft and easily damaged unless you're spending big bucks on something chunky
try the Arab/Indian gold shops they might have some 24k, don't try any of the jewellery shop their will not be any as they are sell 22K max. gold bangles (even then its usually a chains) are very uncommon thing in 24k and don't expect it to be thick either.
If you have deep pockets and don't mind importing it...check out Mene. https://mene.com/bracelets/gold It was started and is run by Roy Sebag, the same gent who started GoldMoney with James Turk and others. I've got no idea if their products are good/ bad or other...it's just a company I came across with asking myself the same question. Not sure how Aust GST would apply to 24k jewellery??? I suspect you'd get hit as it's not bullion bars or coins.
even you can get it, won't recommended as it is too soft in Bangle form. Chain link would be better in 24 karat. Once the border reopen, just fly to singapore plenty of Au shops there.
Yes iv been there a few times funny thing iv never looked at precious metals while in Singapore, however after all this good advice I’ll definitely put it on the visit list.
Update for anyone that has searched for same - over the years I have bought a few pieces from the below link, all very well made. I have had items tested here in Australia and proven to be as advertised, I can recommend this company. https://www.chowsangsang.com/
