Russia will run out of gold in 20 years if new deposits not found, biggest gold miner warns https://www.rt.com/business/536509-russia-gold-running-out/
Not sure that I buy that, Shlomovic. I know people in that part of the world and that's not the story I am hearing. From a prospector's point of view, it is easier to find gold on the goldfields in Russia than it is in the goldfields of Australia. I know of people over there who find kilos of gold nuggets each summer using just metal detectors, although they have to do it clandestinely as the government and the big mining companies don't like competition in the gold mining racket. Also, 90% of the Russian East has not even been properly geologically explored as yet, so no telling what riches are still awaiting discovery in the vast reaches of Siberia, which cover an area larger than the whole of Australia. A mining company boss would be the last person I would listen to concerning how much gold reserves there may be in Russia, as he could have so many ulterior motives for saying what he said.
Just put up for interest/ discussion. First thing that came to mind, he wants to see a jump in price based on his pessimistic forecast.
^^^^ And that's just the above-ground gold reserves. When it comes to below-ground ground reserves I have no doubt their reserves are second to none.
It’s funny that the article came from RT as they have been reporting on Russia amassing physical gold for quite a while now… not sure what the motivation is..?
