I missed out on the ones going for a good price. There are still places selling them, but with an increased premium. KJC and Apmex have a few of them. I'm not willing to pay $300 above spot for it.

Just wish Perth Mint stopped with shitty looking back. Too much matte makes it look cheap.

This mixed texture is the best in my eyes. I just don't understand why some coins don't have it.

I think “shitty looking back”design is likely to stay for the lunar lll series.

I'd prefer Perth to have the same "Reverse" design for platinum coins.

Changing the reverse and using the same design as other bullion coins is just a cheapskate approach that confuses investors and collectors and provides no continuity at all. :(

Perth had a good design with the Platinum Platypus.

It was suggested to Perth to provide 1/2oz 1/4oz and 1/10oz platinum Platypus coins but that fell on deaf ears.

They recently did a smaller platinum kookaburra. Ainslie bullion was selling them last month. Premium was big, so i wouldn't touch them.

Premium considering eagles is sort of the same ball park which was ok to be honest. Don’t think we have fractional Pt less than $170 AUD

Quite frankly I don't know why anybody would stack platinum anymore, my platinum stacking days are well and truly over for good.

Yes, I know it is many times rarer than gold, but that means jack squat these days, price-wise it is just another industrial metal, not a monetary one.

With the coming economic downturn, it will dip well below $1000 and might even go down to $500.

If you must fondle and eyeball something that colour then silver is a much cheaper option.

Maybe the Peth Mint should consider minting some platinum pussies :p

Remember what they say, "when no one wants it" buy it.

Platinum will have its day and shine again. ;):D

Yeah, just have to pick the bottom and "hope" there's platinum coins to be had. o_O
But, as we know, rock bottom spot prices don't mean rock-bottom coin prices. "damn"

I would agree with some of your thoughts, however platinum lunar has been minted the first time (5000 mintage) and for me there was some opportunity to buy on low premium directly from Mint. Yes-if you are buying from some dealers the premium is 2x higher than in Mint. Try to buy platinum lunar mouse at the moment and you'll find out how high is the premium. With economic downturn even gold can go to $1000 in short period of time.Silver is cheap but was cheap for long time-have reached $50 for short period-that's all. For me only lunar coins in platinum-(not others coins or bars ) is a buy ---time will tell--only 9 years to go....

This  is good. What is the street price for the lunar mouse ? I was itching to set one free but decided to leave them in the trap. ;)

I'm watching platinum stock Sibanye Stillwater, in particular, if there's a big dump, it will be a good punt as I think diesel is making a come back.

As for physical pt, it's a long term, fun buy as of now. Didn't vote as the tiger isn't for sale here yet, but I checked the price of Ox, still cost much more than what I paid last year. I missed the pt mouse, unfortunately.

The Chinese bought a lot of pt and pd in 2020, a sudden drop could only mean one thing. They are liquidating their physical stock for $$. Selling pm for American fiat.
