Americans will pay a $300 premium for them!
Maybe $200 in Oz for a good example.
There's a difference in premiums depending on the strike and eye appeal of each individual bar!
I currently own one with a good strike and eye appeal and I wouldn't sell it for a $200 premium however I have sold off poorer strikes in the past for sub $100 premiums!

Actually a great example of why actual pics of rare vintage gold bars are so important when it comes to valuing them.
All the 1 oz gold Harringtons are very desirable, however you can see at least 4 different strike gradings in the picture.
The value and desirability of each of those bars would differ depending on the strike!

That is correct. Also to me the condition a piece might be in. As in nicks or scratches maybe I'm just to picky, but I've seen some nice striked pieces that were pretty beat up from being mishandled. That would also be something I would look at.

They are all rare, however if I had to choose which bar based on fineness to buy, the top two bars in the picture with 9959 are the go.
They are much rarer and older with a better strike! Also each batch was individually assayed.
The 9999 came a bit later when every bar was stamped 9999. Would be interesting to put a few of them under an XRF machine and see whether they truly are 9999

    Rare!
Over the last 15 years, probably a little over a dozen of these pills have passed through my hands and only one has a back serial number.
I now only own one of these Harrington pills and it has a great strike and a back serial number.

    I second that!
I have only ever managed to source one of those bars!
Sold it to a German collector for a $300 premium when spot was a lot lower.
