Hi, my first post! I inherited a good lot of the clad kennedy halves & war nickles....Thanks Dad. I would like to convert this into junk US or bars. What is the most cost efficient way of doing this? Thanks in advance.

Yeah it wouldnt be cost effective to sell it for bars or other junk.
If you can get Ebay prices it might be worth it.
By clad Kennedys do you mean the 40 percent silver halves?

Funny you bring this up apparently I heard that even clad Kennedys are being sought after as 90%s are getting harder to come by.
This was unheard of when I looked into clad Kennedys where they were treated like dirt.

Yeah 90 percent is harder to find for sure. It wouldnt be a good trade unless you didnt mind losing some money/ounces.

And to think that there was a time where 90%s were being sold less than spot (90~95% spot when nobody wanted them).

I remember going through piles of junk and piles of silver dollars to pull out the nicer stuff and I should have bought it all haha.

My dealer hated gold plated junk silver hed always give me that stuff for spot and hed say it was "ruined".

I got some halves and silver dollars that were gold plated for spot that were "ruined" and I never hesitated to take them off his hands haha.

Theres really no gold value on them but still a good chunk of silver and for spot I never complained. I think they are kind of cool but he hates that stuff.
Around half my stack is junk silver that I'd never sell but I'd sell the Roosevelt dimes and Washington quarters for the most part.
Maybe some of the most worn Walking Liberty halves or Merc dimes someday.
I'll probably keep all my silver dollars forever.

Thank you guys for your replies. I knew it would be tough. I have a small retail business that probably "cross references" the same type of people that might buy silver. I think I might offer it up in rolls at melt & see how that goes......could go bust, or it could be OK....I will try. Thank you very much.

On Apmex looks like they go for around $4 over spot for a roll. That's a fair price to ask for them.

Thank you....I have never looked at a Retail sight! The only silver I ever bought was 3 100 oz bars, 10 or 12 years ago at spot from a family friend in the business who is now deceased from Covid.

Post them for sale in the local paper or local forum. Might be easy to sell like that.
