You can't help but be disappointed when your 10 bagger only shows 900% instead of 1000%
    Damn ratios.
First world winners problem of course.

I didn’t want to start a new thread for this but I just got off the phone with commsec and they froze my account when I said I was in the US saying it’s not a legal jurisdiction that I’m allowed to trade from (it was before the pandemic and the guy said they had a 6 month ‘grace period’). Then I copped some abuse about not coming back to Aus on time (then I lost my shit at him).

I was pretty mad and just hung up but I couldn’t find any emails or communications about why they shut it down, sounded like I should have been well aware of this.. anyone know what’s up there? I’m back in a few weeks so don’t want to escalate it and make it worse for myself.

^ not aware of it, but I'm one of those guilty ones who never reads any updates to the terms and conditions.

Make it worse and escalate it.

I've had some of my best wins against the CBA by not complying.

Also, it depends on how much dough you have in the bank at the time, who you get on the phone and what mood they are in. If it's by phone, ask to speak to a supervisor, or their supervisor and so on. If you go into a branch and talk face to face, they find it much harder to say no.

Yeah that's understandable. Best not making phonecallls or appointments while upset. Good luck with it. They must be close to letting people back in now. Last I heard the government were still organising citizen repatriation flights. Surely the US woukd be one of the first to be working with.

And another thing, always ask for their full name. That can help add to their ownership of the situation and motivate them to try harder.
