Hi All, I was looking at rowing across the ditch in a couple of months and was looking at getting some kiwi bullion. Has anyone done this and if so does anyone have any NZ contacts to purchase from and also how did you get on bringing it it back to oz?

    Thanks

There are at least two other threads here. Just do a search and ye shall find.

I wrote about my experience and tried to list all the ones I could from google and check as many as possible on the north land

basically in Auckland there is the NZ mint and a bloke in the bottom level of the same building who seems to be only there in the afternoon and then its a bit hit and miss - could try giving him a call

there's someone else in waitakere city (basically outskirts of auckland, on the east/northeast side from memory, though I didnt confirm it)

in Rotorua there is one shop which was out of bullion and coins other than numis when i went, also closed (but i spoke with the shop owners dad at his home)

there are a number of online vendors, one based in auckland i think, but no shopfront

again, all is in the relevant thread, a month or so old :)

    prices can be steep

    no probs bringing it back

but if you bring a sealed tube, they will probably want to open it

fortunately i had, of all things, a silver enthusiast as my customs officer so he let it go

which city in NZ are you going to? its substantially more expensive here than at bullionmark/PM etc, so not sure why you'd want to buy any here - unless you specifically want some NZ made bars for some reason?

    BullionNZ do quite good prices.
Trademe (nz version of ebay) always has something on there but usually ends up being overpriced.
Regal Castings in auckland but mostly just sell perth mint stuff - cheaper buying in AUS.

Bazz1000 - did you order from australia and have it sent over or were you in australia?

I'm coming back to NZ soon and bringing some coins with me that I bought over here. Curious as to how it works out ordering from BM etc and having it sent to NZ.
