    Howdy folks.
I’ve been stacking since 1993, and lemme tell ya...it’s become increasingly difficult to keep up with all the numerous coin issues from countless mints and countries.

When I first started collecting, all I bought was bullion bars and handful of silver rounds. In recent years, I’ve turned to collecting the various monetized issues from governments across the globe. While there are the biggies (eg Perth Mint, US Mint, RCM, etc.), there seems to be an increase in the number of issues we’re seeing, and from various small mints.

So, that being said, how do you find out about these coin issues? How do you stay abreast of upcoming releases and/or pre-orders? What resources do you use to find these new issues?

Thanks in advance for your answers. Ideally, I’d love to have links for some of your sources, if possible.

Outside of forums like this (there are others, like on reddit), the best places are the mint websites themselves or the most popular stores. You'll hear people talk about "Mik" as well who runs a popular coin site https://agaunews.com/. That site is always positive on reviews though, and may come off like a marketing extension for the coin producers, but it has a lot of info on coin releases (old and new).

There are a number of big online store sites that list new/upcoming releases, and some of those releases are actually produced for that specific store so they will be the first places you may see them. Some stores to look at:

    https://www.powercoin.it/en/
    https://www.topworldcoins.com/
    https://www.pela-coins.eu/english.html
    https://www.apmex.com/
    https://www.lpm.hk/

Each of the stores have sections for new releases, so it's a first place to look if you want to see what they have listed (not all stores list new releases at the same time or list the same releases).

Other than that, you should look at the mint websites themselves. Some examples:
    https://mint.ca/store/template/home.jsp
    https://www.perthmint.com/
    https://www.royalmint.com/
    https://germaniamint.com/series/
    https://www.cit.li/
    https://www.pressburgmint.com/

There's a lot more, but honestly your best bet is to find coin issues you like and then seek out their producers.

Other than that, you can always ask here if you see something you like and I'm sure someone will point you in the right direction.

That’s great man! Thank you. I have about 1/2 of your suggestions on my list, but I will checkin to the others.

As for seeking out “coin issues I like,” I think that’s kind of the point of my thread...HOW to find coin issues. By the time they hit the larger wholesalers, many of the small issue coins are sold out.

    thanks a ton. mike

Typically i like to keep abreast or two in my hands, and at that point i dont think much about coin issues.
    Hope that answers your question?

The way to find new releases is to always be looking. No joke.

Some of the stores I mentioned above are the biggest and most well known, and as such usually post new coins first; they will some times list upcoming items before they go on sale too. The trick is, once you see a coin go live then you need to be on the lookout for the best price: people generally have their preferred stores because of price, location, shipping, etc.

But the bottom line is to always be on the lookout and sometimes to form relationships that help with that (that's why I mentioned forums - some places are very good with posting upcoming releases they hear about before they go on sale). It takes a fair bit of work and you have to always be on the lookout, but if you want the best price, there's no other option.

The list I gave above was a starter. There's a lot of places to look and everyone has their favorites. As an example, if you like the Perth Mint, they have a section on their site for new releases, so you can see what's coming and know when to get in early; the RCM has a Masters Club for preferred buyers, and people there usually share what's coming before they are announced to the general public; and so on.

    Hope that helps.
