Can't agree. Especially when I see the adaptive building behaviour of wild bee colonies that I rehome.

Honeybee Democracy by Thomas Seeley is a fascinating read.

So if honey bees are as adaptive as you argue then colony collapse should not be an issue without human intervention.

Contrast that with human technology and when faced with a climactic event we adapt and introduce technologies often completely foreign to our DNA ie vaccines.

There are signs that bees are adapting, ( particularly wild colonies) to an issue that seems to be a result of human activity. I didn't argue that bees are on the level of human technological achievement, but that doesn't mean they aren't adaptive beyond simple instinct.

We may look back at the human response to Covid ( a climactic event) and say we were lacking the cohesion required to effectively respond. I wonder if we would have been looking at Human Colony Collapse if Covid was as deadly as Ebola?

It might be a play on youtube. instead of you, "we". Wechat is the equivalent of whatsapp, line, viber and telegram since all other messaging apps are banned in China since all communications have to be monitored for illegal activities. So they can only use wechat which is a monopoly in China.

Alor isn't writing chinglish, it's a mix of singlish and proper english. The PRCs write better english. The old instruction manuals are probably translated using software translators, but nowadays Google does a pretty good job.

But when Alor starts writing real english, his standard is way better than anyone who learned chinese as a mother tongue.

As I’ve expected, Trump is trolling China with WeChat and TikTok. All Chinese companies private or public are effectively owned by the government so they can’t do anything without Beijing’s approval. There will be no deal because Beijing will not agree to any deal.

When you’re used to free lunches, all deals look bad in comparison. :D
