I recently got the free silver plated medallion from the Macquerie mint, and have accidently subscribed to their newsletter via mail.

This turned out to be a positive because a few times a month, they send me advertisements of the new released.

I was looking at the sheet I got yesterday, and how they are charging $30 a month for a subscription to receive coloured $2 coins :p

However, I also saw the 50c UNC subscription that they are offering a special price on.
$15 and you get a 1970 Captin Cook and a 1966 Round 50! The spot in the 50 is just under $13, and that's just the silver! They are both in UNC cards, and the 50c cards usually retail about $10 each.

Im seriously considering getting it! It seems that its actually a good deal for a fully UNC round 50.

However I find that this mint tends to make things seem to good, I recently tried to get a one time issue of the 'Fabulous 15' collection, and get the one time issue of the PM Kanga in a collection case with a silver watch, but ended up getting a 20gm Kangaroo. Like seriously, the first coin is 20gm and the rest 1oz. Marketing weasels.

Be careful, id email and ask if its silver before buying, they may very well be cupro nickel like the other 50c's.

Well, it does say "You may return any release within 14 days of receipt for a full refund of the purchase price, or cancel this collection at any time."

So technically it would seem possible to get a round fiddy + 1970 50c for $15. Just remember to cancel the subscription.

"Yes! Please send me the ‘1970 Captain Cook 50c Coin’ and the ‘1966 Silver Round 50c Coin’ as my first pair of coins in the Australian 50 Cent Coin Collection, at the special price of only $15 (FREE postage, handling & insurance). With this purchase, I will receive the remaining releases at the rate of two coins each month for $25 (plus $12.00 P,H&I). I can return any release within 14 days of receipt to receive a full refund of the purchase price and I can cancel this service at any time."

    UPDATE
I followed up with them via email and was told that it is made of 80% silver and is NOT a restrike.
They actually have fully uncirculated round 50's from 1966. Bargain. just remember to cancel the subscription.

*Actual order of deliveries is subject to change

IMO I'd be wary if lets say placing a 100 + order in, as instead of receiving Delivery 1 you may get Delivery 2 to Delivery 11 with the above^^^ disclaimer.

Then why do I see the word 'commemorative' whenever referencing to it in description? No mention of purity in description or on the packaging. Seems sus aye. The Silver in the title could be referring to the colour, or the title of the coin it's commemorating. I'd be interested in test results from one.

Thats because the subscription is for 'commemorative 50 cent coin' and they've found it necessary to send out a round 50 because its different to the usual one. Once again, I've gotten confirmation its real so if it tests fake their in some trouble, because they are publicly misleading people.

Yeah, but with plausible deniability, going off the product's description. Just saying, i'd be keen for a PMV result on one of them.
