Just thought I'd share this pic I took many years ago. The coin is long gone but I just love how this pic turned out and couldn't delete it. It was taken on a phone, no special effects, just nice lighting coming from the right directions and some pure luck. The coin is in a capsule unfortunately so has some reflections from that. I really like how it looks like the nugget is actually "popping" out of the coin, almost ultra high relief. Anyone who has had one of these old coins knows that they are reasonably flat like any other. I believe this was a proof coin which is why the light shines like it does, but goes to show how well the mint did in making the strike show like it does. Just for the sake of it. Enjoy! BM.
Wow, sure does look nice, almost like a high relief coin, thanks for sharing! Just a small correction though, it is not proof, it was released as a proof in 1986 and then as a specimen uncirculated coin in 1987. I have them both in my stack and they look magnificent in both strikes, no doubt about it. I bet you wish you had kept it.

It was actually from the 4 coin set (I think) and unfortunately parted out. And definitely wish I had kept it. Had this in my early days of stacking, now I have my own display of all sorts it would have been great to put in there...
