    Hi
I want to buy some Perth Mint silver bullion coins with shipping to Japan.
    5 oz, 10 oz, 1 kilo
    Lunars or Kookaburras
Please send me the prices - spot +%%, or spot + USD(AUD) would be the best form as I am not in a rush
Please let me know what would be the shipping charge.

Ready to pay via paypal, with USD (preferable) or AUD. (Please add paypal fee to the prices)

    Thanks

Australia Post is sending mail to Japan although some areas are now being affected by flooding.

However, Japan Post is not sending anything to Australia, but you can send a letter from Japan to Greenland if you want to.

Now how screwed up is that?

140 years ago postal services managed to get letters and postcards from Europe to Australia in 35 to 40 days without airplanes. Now they can't even do it at all.

Standard post will take forever to overseas due to COVID, not even worth to try... you'll be 10+years older by the time you get your parcel..

Logistics flights are not daily, more like 'full-load' only attitude... I had mine waiting in transit for 3 months, until flight got scheduled..

And that's standard post for you.

Europe even worst! I got a few purchases cancelled, because AUS is not accepting parcels from Selected EU countries... you better check as EU is hitting 2nd wave of COVID

You better have more luck of getting your parcel in reasonable time from countries that are low COVID cases, unless you can wait and hv the patience

Best for you to buy from AU or NZ or TAIWAN :D

well, luckily I am not in Australia )).
Shipped to Europe last 2 weeks. From those parcels that I have shipped in mid of July, some have been delivered already
    .
p.s. places in Asia would work great too (standard mail delivers to Singapore or Hong Kong in 4-5 business days lately). But is seems they have higher premiums. Anyway, any suggestions for online places in Singapore, Hong Kong are appreciated.

Yes, you are lucky that you are in Japan. Where, may I ask?

To be perfectly frank, our postal service here sucks. It took a week for a letter to go 32 kilometers across a few suburbs and 11 days from Sydney to Melbourne. Registered items that require signature are left on doorsteps or have a card thrown in the mail box even though people are home.

    Tracking? What tracking?

A package goes from South Australia to Melbourne to the delivery post office and then back to Melbourne and who knows where they are now? No updates for 10 days on that one now. Another package from the same company mailed the next day has already been delivered although there was no tracking until AFTER it was delivered.

Postage costs to send letters and packages overseas are ridiculous.

IIRC a 300 gram SAL package from Japan to Australia costs 380 yen or about A$5. To send that parcel from Australia to Japan would cost A$22. Express for the same item would cost twice as to mail it from Japan to Australia, but the Japanese EMS service includes insurance coverage of 20,000 yen (about A$250) in the price so the Japanese price is even cheaper.

A basic airmail letter from Australia to Japan costs $A2.50 and A$3.20 to the USA.

    I am in Yokohama.
Aus post failed to deliver several of my packages to Aus(ems and registerred), but packages from Aus to Japan have been delivered without any problems.
As of Japan post rates - they are great.

Nice place - Yokohama - we stayed at the Landmark Hotel when we visited Yokohama in 2018 and 2019. We then rented an apartment for a month in another part of Yokohama.

I don't know of any good and cheap coin shops in Yokohama.

If you ever get to Sapporo there is a decent stamp shop that also has a good selection of coins and the prices were quite reasonable. I spent a lot of money there on all my trips to Sappporo!! (I was lucky they were running a 'buy x yen and get a x% discount" sale the first time I went there back in 2011.) The name is Shinbashi Stamp which is located near Susukino Station. They also run stamp and coin auctions which you can bid at by mail. Much better prices on items than many other shops in Japan.

There is also another coin/stamp place called Cherry Stamp which is located near the Number 1 exit of the Oodori Subway Station. They have both stamps and coins, but are, as usual, expensive.

Of course, if you don't speak/read Japanese you might have a problem as none of the people there spoke English when I visited the shops.
