I'd probably have to agree but if the rays behind the 2019 eagle were actually radial lines similar to the radial lines found on some of the newer RCM coins (such as like this: https://content.propertyroom.com/li...-fine-silver-888888946_482017144115701665.JPG ), then the 2019 would be my choice.....but of course, that's obviously not how that background looks.

    2020 for me too!
2019 Eagle design is cool but those radial lines are God awful. Shame!

So I'm not the only one who dislikes that background. Are your tastes like mine in that if the background was very fine radial lines like the RCM is using on some of it's recent silver coins, that would be far superior looking? I think the fine radial lines look really nice as a backdrop to an Eagle or Cougar or any wildlife depicted.

Anything which allow the Wedgie to take centre stage. The radial lines are too dominant!

The designer, a brilliant guy (ex-US Mint Chief Engraver John M. Mercanti) doesn't really capture the uniqueness of the Australian Wedge-tailed eagle, Aquila audax. I think he's great at interpreting the US Bald Eagle Haliaeetus leucocephalus.
The wedgy has a completely different beak and head shape to what's depicted on those coins, so to me, either one is ok for the American market. Mmm platinum. :D

The actual 2019 WTE coin looks better than its images.
