Hey fellow stackers! I am pretty sure I had an account here a long time ago, but can't seem to find it so I'm making a new one. My name is Sean and I am located in Scottsdale, Arizona.

I've recently got back into coins and I'm trying to brush up on authentication and grading. A friend of mine inherited a 1916-D and I wanted to help give an approximate grade and value.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Kind Regards,

    Sean

    Hi,

Thanks so much for your reply. I've visited all of those websites and I am actually a customer of JM

I am actually looking for individual opinions of members here! I do sincerely apologize if I didn't make that clear.

I find there is only so much information that can be picked up from reading grading standards and studying pricing webpages.

Would you be willing to offer your opinion, Steel?

    Kindly,

    Sean

Sorry Sean, but I'm no expert on old coins. PCGS run some youtube tutorials that may assist you.

When you go to the link, just scroll down, plenty of stuff there. Failing that, there should be plenty of professional graders where you are (NGC, PCGS, etc)

Even with very large, high res images, it's hard to give a very accurate analysis of a grade. Your pics are definitely not of good enough quality except to say that that your coin appears to be sub AU.
