Also fetching a lot of pre decimal for 10 - 15% under spot. Not sure why it's so unloved. If it goes down anymore may as well just melt it down.
Having said that there was over 500oz available in 1oz ingots at 28$ with very little interest ...... Have no regrets friend
There are certain times of the year to buy, and other times not to, its pretty predictable IMO, Jan and Feb is not a good time to buy, getting into march and it starts to dip, Mid November-mid December is also a good time to buy, Late December usually starts getting traction leading into the Jan and Feb. If you look at charts over the last decade you will notice that. Its always served me pretty well. If FOMO sets in you will get burnt every time. Silver does not reward FOMO. [QUOTE="Not sure about that? Some on here for 28$ In the last weeks surely that’s cheap enough[/QUOTE] Getting coins close to spot, or at spot is fine obviously, but isnt as common as KG bars, and not that often in big enough lots to make it worth while. Its Ok for people with only a few hundred ounces, who happy to buy 5 ounces at a time. But when your into a few thousand ounces, Coins are annoying and have the additional problem of taking upto much room in a SDB. Sadly its Not often you see full rolls for close to spot, which realistically would really make it worth the shipping. There is So many downsides with coins, especially if the value of each coin is worth different Premiums, trying to offload hundreds if not thousands of coins is a nightmare, But yer if you are getting at spot eg milk spotted junk coins I guess in that case that makes it easy to offload at spot or close to. I do have some one ounce coins as you need to keep some on hand,But No where near as many as I had when I first started collecting almost 20 years ago, those took me years to offload them as mentioned having coins worth different premiums makes selling slow and painful. The money from those got converted in for bars and that made my life so much easier. I would have allot more silver if I stayed away from coins in my early stacking days, and went exclusively with bars, thankfully at that time silver was $7-$10 an ounce so i could accumulate a fair wack of silver on a small budget lol but I could have grabbed even more silver on those prices if I didnt waste money on premium coins, and could have sold even more silver when I did a big sell in 2011 for $38 an ounce. The coins were the only silver I was left sitting on as I couldnt offload them quick enough to catch those prices for the price crashed. But Hey, I didnt really think silver was going tobe worth anything when I started stacking, It sat so low for such a long time, it was just for fun having a massive pile of silver.lol. hindsight should have thought about bigger bars over coins to have had an even bigger pile. Oh well
Too true, my point was more that bulk single ounces have been available here on the trading post for around the 28-29 mark in very recent times and slavaja has nothing to lament
Looks like our Reserve Bank doesn't want Australian Investors to get the benefit of this SPIKE. Edited to say "we've caught up".
Forget the SILVER SPIKE, the beat downs in SILVER & GOLD will continue UNTIL MORALE IMPROVES. (or, the CARTEL collapses) _JOHNLGALT. (calling it like it is). F@@K the P.M.'s CARTEL.
