Are newer Maple Leafs prone to milk spotting?

So I've heard that there have been improvements made to the maple leafs produced after 2018 so that they don't have as much of a milk spotting problem.

Can anyone that has bought a significant amount of both older and newer maple leafs determine a difference?

I don't have a significant amount, but i can confirm every coin i have that is pre 2018 has a lot of milky spots/smears, while the coins that are 2018 look perfect.

So i would say whatever they did works.

I asked Michael from bullionnow and he said there is still a milk spot issue and won't be resolved till 2021 or 2022

Do you know what has prevented it from happening to your 2015 maples?

That's interesting, so far I have heard good things about the post 2018 maples. I do like the coins but I just can't stomach the idea of getting some only for them to end up with inevitable blemishes.

I got 50 pieces of the 2018 late last year, at least 2 pieces has small white spots. Not many but not perfect coins. It's ok if you get them at low premium.

Do the spots really matter? A MS70 maple really doesn't hold a premium.

Antiqueing moderns coins may or may not work. There is definitely varnish on some coins.

Ok, I have no reason to try it as yet but I might in future if I get some coins that end up with milk spots. I think I'm just going to fully commit to ASE's though haha. I do find the look pretty appealing on some of those coins he treated!
