Looking to buy a 10mm 55 cm (appro) men's curb link silver chain. Preferably 925. Don't like the idea of jewelry store prices, but im happy to pay a little over spot. Pm pictures / weight / content / price Cheers
Just out of interest, I've seen a nice brand name antique piece with beautiful petina at 4 x spot. The "same" piece retails new for just under $800 It's little wonder that those gentlemen buying jewelry in the shopping malls usually don't bother with silver. I could imagine being offered $50 fo my "$800" chain... the $12 he might make on the purchase wouldn't be worth his time and the seller would be left fuming at his offer. It seems the Silver jewelry price : value ratio is definitely world's apart from the gold jewelry. Last time I looked at chunky gold necklaces they retailed at about 4 x spot it looks like silver is around 13 x spot for new. It makes the pre loved gold jewelry on this site look like even bigger bargains Interesting hey Anyhow, I'm still looking. All the best
I have some chains that I'll be selling at my monthly market stall this weekend. I'll see what I've got. 60cm+ usually fits over your head without the need to unclip.
Thanks Sammysilver. 60cm might be still a little snug around my neck, anything around 8 to 10mm I did buy a 63cm chain a while back and it was absolutely as small as I could go. I mistakenly bought a 55cm silver chain and it's way too small... (The old chain pictured in the thread) I'll try to move that one on.
Not what you’re looking for, but it’s a big necklace for a big bloke. Pretty old Mexico 925 chain weighing 198.9g, length 63cm. Good functioning clasp, would come up shiny again with a proper clean. Just message me if you’re interested.
Thanks for the offer pi It's definitely a unique piece and extremely chunky, but unfortunately I've got my heart set on a curb link. Cheers anyhow
It's 55cms and the links are 13mm wide. Weighs in at approx. 120g on my budget kitchen scales. It's a very chunky chain.
Thanks anyway STKR... I might need to stretch my neck thinner ; ) 13mm is definitely chunky AF though. Im getting a few nibbles out there. Looks like I'll find something soon enough. It's a dam shame that the old Angus and Coot chain I bought is too small. I love the soldered ends on it. They're just a bit fancier than you usually see on new chains.
There's this one on gumtree in Canberra. It's in my area so id be happy to collect and send to you if you desired: Please view this ad: 925 Sterling Silver chain, https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/bel...=socialbuttons&utm_content=android_VIP_sticky Price: $80 Negotiable
She'll be right STKR. I can't see a width length, I'd assume at that price shed be skinny? Cheers for the amazing offer of help anyhow, I have a couple of fellow stackers who are going to send through pictures over the next few days. I'll wait and see what they come up with.
