It is easy to buy custom graphite moulds for hand pours. Does anyone know where to buy custom moulds/dies for minting bars? I cannot find any. I appreciate any help.
For hand pours I always figured you would just buy a block of graphite and get a CNC machine to route it out for you. But my friend says it would get very messy. And I don't have a CNC machine or the ability to do the necessary 3D modelling to make the mold anyway. For minting I am sure you could do the same thing with a steel block, and then just harden it afterwards. Our club found it pretty easy to go abroad to get our medals designed, all done in China, designing, die sinking and minting. Copper worked out to be about $10 per medal I think
