Wondering how everyone goes about storing their rounds (50c 1966)? Struggling to find tubes with large enough inner diameter?

Links to products would be great! Looking for a cost effective method besides chucking them in a drawer.

    Thanks!

Try a draw-string cloth bag from Silver Stackers/Gold Stackers. You may want to get them shiny & bright before you store them (properly dried) using Connoisseurs Silver Dip.

How does the model a fit? From what I can see coin diameter is 31.51 and air bit A is 30.94?

Years ago I think someone was using the cardboard inner core of a large paper towel from Aldi. Something like that anyway. Maybe someone else remembers. I am afraid my memory is a bit hazy.

    I use a Mocconna jar.

It is relatively airtight and holds hundreds of the things.

I have given them all a clean so I get to enjoy looking at them.

They are all 'circulated' so I didn't feel the need to go to any expense to give them any special treatment when it comes to storage, just enough to keep the dust off and try to stop them all toning.

I use the half dollar cointite tube that holds 21 fifties. you then tape 6 tubes together which gives you 126 coins in a brick. From memory 4 bricks equals 3 kilos of silver.

A box a bank bag or whatever. I use the bank ziplocks for 50 coins all stored in a cloth bank bag. Good for about 2000. Sammy is perfectly organised. Looks nice. I certainly don’t have 15000 but I don’t see the point in spending money to hold them. They aren’t proofs (all UNC coins I store separately) so I personally see no value in specialist storage. That’s just me of course.

yer I got mine in zip lock bags, I put as many as I can in row in bottom of the bag on their sides crammed in tight, then remove the air from the bag before ziplocking, and then wrap the top of the bag around the coins and it looks like a coin roll, then a bit of tape to keep it from unwrapping. that seems to holds them snug and tight and they stack nice in the roll
Hope that makes sense, its hard to describe lol

The coins are currently worth about 20 cents over melt value and I don't really want to spend any money to store them. A few extra scratches or finger prints is not going to reduce their value. I have seen them at about $1 premium but not for a long time, once again these were just for bullion grade, dirty, scratched and with fingerprints and dings.

I do get collections in when they are in 2x2 or plastic capsules and I don't pay any extra just because they are better protected.

My main aim is to be able to store as many as I can for as cheaply as possible. I find cardboard boxes get soft in the humidity, attract cockroaches and collapse when you pick them up. Plastic boxes are fine but once you start stacking them when they are full I find the lids cave in.

The glass moccona jars are free, and you can stack them on top of each other as long as you are careful. You can move them around as needed. I wouldn't want to drop one as the clean up would be a pain.
