Nope .... Smidgeons are designed to remove the need for Fiat as an interface to gold in our financial system.

You can only get them by trading in a kilo gold bar and receiving 32 ounces and a smidgeon in return.

... or returning one of the 5 proto-smidgeons to exchange for the production version.

Is it possible to do the same with a Kilo of silver & get a silver smidgeon, because I am a smidgeon light on the gold side of things? Plenty of shiny white though. Thanks @Captain Kookaburra.

So just to clarify this, in order for me to get a smidgeon I need to first buy a kilo of gold, and then I can swap it for 32 ounces of gold and a smidgeon of gold (0.151 oz)? So where do you get these ideas from CK?

Anyhow, what if I turned up with 33 ounces and I wanted to swap it for a kilo bar? Do we have something for this scenario?

Yes ... There will be Silver Smidgeons in the future.

However, trying to convince someone that the premium difference between the Kilo (About $50) and the 32 ounces + Smidgeon ($100+) is worth the exchange.

So while ... yeah... but I don't see it happening frequently.

GoldenEye speaks of the Anti-Smidgeon. Or perhaps a Curmudgeon. Lol.
