I got just a couple of them as well. Unfortunately no buyback premium (at least yet) that I've seen (mintage 120k)... well, APMEX still has stock and charges $4 more for the privy version than the normal 2017.

Compared to the garden variety 2017 Brit there's the tiny 20 trident privy and obverse also has the radial "sunburst" background.

Came to think about this - there was another version made; "available only to Goldco Precious Metals customers"...

mintage 99k, with similar design as the 1997 one. Some of them seem to have trickled down to other retailers.

Mints and bullion dealers will always charge more for privy marks, special years, etc yet won't buy back for any more. It all reverts back to spot.

You can try marking them at any price you want at shows or ebay or whatever, but it all reverts back to spot. Just look at 10, 20, 30year etc maples, eagles, libs, etc... all the same as any other year (you get spot plus maybe small premium).

They are not numismatic, they are bullion. Buy accordingly.

I wouldn’t go that far sly. I think the privy and limited mintage stuff does a lot better than spot price of eagles. Or the other limited runs, even the Queens Ship that recently came out with a mintage of 15k. Granted dealers need to make a profit. I would never sell to them. Ebay is best. But buying more ounces verses the premium spend may be the way to go over the long the run. And I think places like ownx.com are the best places to play the physical spot price, because you can take delivery and at the click of a button you can sell 10,000 ounces...
