    Well lovely coin that arrived today. Thanks Ron. This coin has been discussed before on this forum over the years, and people have questioned if it is 22ct gold. Probably this is because of the erroneous certificate of authenticity that mentions “Alloy” and also .925 (which of course refers to silver). Also it is very difficult to find references to the coin on the Internet. All I could find were two auctions of a similar coin. I guess this is not surprising as only 580 were ever produced.
    I was confident that Ron would know 22ct gold but none I could find has ever tested this coin. So for the record the coin was XRF tested this morning and it is 22ct gold.
