I also have connections in Albury - are there more stackers here? If so we can start a local one here.
We have tried many locations for our national work conference across the country. After much trial and error, our company has decided to stick with Melb and Syd plus occasionally Bris or GC. The other cities were not well attended. Melbourne is by the far the most popular bc it is easy to get to from anywhere. Sure Sydney could say the same but in my experience non-NSW ppl prefer Melbourne. Albury is also easy to get to with flights, train and bus from Syd or Melb. Nearby historic Beechworth sells gold - might be worth a day trip from Albury. I am happy to help on an organising committee here.
@Tigerland, I was part of the Charlie Chaplin exhibition at the museum last September. Also visited about two months ago with a view to opening a distillery there.
@sammysilver and @Captain Kookaburra Hey gents any update on this ? Is the idea still on the table or become too hard to pull together
I'm in regardless of where it is. But if it becomes a Melbourne or Sydney thing then those not in either place should vote...just to get the highest attendence.
I'm meeting with the Captain tomorrow evening at the ABC soiree. I have digested all your comments and the most popular posts on the Forum. The most mileage this past month has centered around Epstein, so I'll recommend we hold it on Orgy Island and charter the Lolita Express to get us there! However, on a serious note, I believe if costs can be kept to a minimum, i.e. a free venue, we should hold it in Sydney or Melbourne where the majority of Stackers reside.
Yes... The meeting of the minds is imminent. Tending towards Sydney if we can get some sponsorship from the Gold Symposium. All the right people will be in the room tomorrow night. Ck.
If attendees would be willing to purchase some food at the event, the friend in hand pub at Sydney has a decent setup: http://friendinhand.com/?page_id=211
OK... So at this point, after discussions with Sammy on Tuesday, we are looking at doing a meet in Sydney to coincide with the GAIC (The Gold and Alternative Investments Conference) Potential dates range from 23rd to 27th of October. Venue still TBA.
