I overlooked this because I thought it was one of the new moon landing coins that have come out. Give it some time... It'll find a home it is pretty cool.
Thanks but I can get the same price for scrap as im asking here so it makes no sense financially. Still im hopeful someone takes it today. 50 year anniversary.
They came in different sizes too: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FINE-GOL...ON-MEDAL-IN-NEAR-MINT-CONDITION-/152420658888 This one is half the size and going for $680 So this coin is a screaming bargain.... Come on guys... To Da Moon!
It definitely looks like his initials and he was a long-term engraver at the Royal Australian Mint, his most famous design would be the Aboriginal elder from the $2 coin.
Not mentioned on his otherwise very extensive CV though? http://www.worldofcoins.eu/forum/index.php?topic=8865.0
Interesting, maybe it's another designer with the same initials. If this was German made in 1969 then it probably wouldn't be Hahne, who although was German moved to Australia in 1959.
