Purchased a sixpence holder at the Canberra meet yesterday. Looking to buy 40 sixpences @ 50% to fill it and sell at my Market store. Looking F2F Sydney. Say $25.
Beautiful .. extremely beautiful Hope you get some minty 6ds to serve it justice (jealous!) Back when stuff was made well to last forever
Oh for sure, but I was just pointing out that those conditions were not specified in OP, and under 'normal' circumstances $25 would seem to be a pretty hard lowball
For sure its a low ball for 40 excellent 6d, but id give Sammy the benefit of doubt that he would have taken mostly worn and non badly drilled coins (recognizable as 6d) I presume he only needs a few good decent coins and the rest are fillers for the market buyer
Totally understand, I was listing pure melt weight of silver. If he can grab what he needs for $25 all the more power to him. I was just interjecting with ASW on what was asked for
Everyone is wrong! I miss-calculated that 5 florins equal an ounce of silver so therefore 40 sixpences equals about an ounce. I should of reckoned 2 ounces. So anyway I was quite prepared to pay more than $3 over the ounce as I don't care to seriously lowball anyone. That said, it is bad form to call someone out on their thread, lowball or not. It is always best to PM. Meanwhile, thanks for the secondary support Ipv6. Lastly, I have just concluded a deal for 110 sixpences and have moved on the additional 70. I hope to sell the fully filled container at my market stall for $75-$80.
