    Hi, everyone.

I'm looking to swap (ounce for ounce) around 100 oz of low premium 999 silver coins for smaller denominations in any 999 form.

This will only appeal to the regretful purchaser of fractional stuff, as I am aware that 1/10, 1/4 and 1/2 oz stuff is somehow 'more valuable' (read: more expensive) ounce for ounce than what I am offering.

I'm not a flipper chasing a profit, I'm just looking for a more accurate way to have smaller silver pieces that doesn't involve tinsnips.

I have 1oz, 2oz, 10oz and 1kg units that I am happy to trade with, but it is the 1oz coins that I regret buying and I really just want smaller denominations, ounce for ounce.

Anything that isn't low premium is wasted on me, but if you don't mind, then I don't either.

I post this in the spirit of 'one mans trash is another mans treasure' or as Confucious says, "I hope we can ying each others yang." ..or something, I'm not really sure, I never paid much attention in church.

If you have no luck with swaps I have fractionals that you can buy.
If interested in this avenue of acquiring fractionals send me a PM

If no takers for a fractional swap, then I'll swap 100 1oz 999 for bars or buttons.

    I'll swap 16oz for it.
Can't do cash though, I'd have to sell a kilo bar, first.

Yes, I know. It was sort of my point. Didn't mean any disrespect but at first, I thought that you were taking the p**s but then I looked up what you had and realised that your offer was serious. Just the way that it was written, 500g for 1kg price, I couldn't resist being sarcastic. I can see that what you were offering would be attractive to many here, but I don't value plastic coated silver as any more than its weight. I appreciate the offer as it is exactly the type of thing that I was asking for, just a pity that they aren't all banged up and just worth their weight.

Thanks for the offer, see you in the other thread, haha.

Have you considered 50% pre decimal coins or are you only after 999 pure?

Making smaller 999 fractionals still requires designers, die making, storage, adverting, distribution and all the other expenses that go into the larger more popular offerings but the amount of silver is low, so the main cost is in all the overheads. As you add more silver the other costs stay the same and you are just paying the extra silver price, hence the better premiums.

For fractional amounts I just go for pre decimals, 92.5% if you want to get fancy but 50% is cheaper and more readily available.

Yeah, I really like that stuff but for collecting 'just' silver, for some reason I can't value it as silver and think that if I can't even see the value of it, then how will anyone else if I ever had to trade it for anything to someone who isn't into silver?

I see them as I guess, a cake. It might be 50% flour but it really is of no use having a cake when what you really want, is flour. If that makes any sense?

I don't see why a one-off cost of making a jig should be transferred to the cost of a coin. I can see how a premium would come from hand-carving them all but you make a jig for repetitive tasks so that the task is easier and therefore cheaper. It seems though that it was made only to be easier, without any goal of making a more affordable product.

I do like those but to hold them, they would be a coin collection to me and not really classed in my mind, as silver. Even the 92.5% stuff. It's that cake thing, again. I'm not really into coins but I may surprise myself and get some and even like them.

I know for a fact that I'm not into shiny, careful-with-them coins, the premiums paid are wasted because the first thing I do is take the capsules off, handle it and throw it in the bucket with the rest.

Blobs are the only value for money for me, it seems.

You can always get silver shot but I think that you have to pay tax on them.

Yeah, I do like to have 999 and a weight stamped on my stuff.

If I had shot, that would just throw another hobby into the mix. I can't afford too many hobbies at once, haha.

I did look into those divisible sheets and the snap bullion but every time I go to the bullion shop I walk out with a bunch of crap that I didn't want so the other day I went in for the sole purpose of getting a bunch of the 2oz monarch tombstone-shaped things.

(not THE tombstone) and I'm really happy with them although I was a bit disappointed at how shiny they are because the pictures that I saw before I went in there showed dark writing stamped into it, but my writing was all shiny and new looking, haha.
